Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock has a new TV ad in his Republican primary challenge against longtime Sen. Dick Lugar. The ad further hammers the issue that Lugar has actually lived in the Washington suburbs, ever since he first went to the Senate and sold his home in Indianapolis.

“When Dick Lugar moved to Washington in 1977, disco topped the charts, and leisure suits were in style,” the announcer says. “A lot’s changed since then — including Senator Lugar. Voting for earmarks and bailouts; Obama’s liberal Supreme Court picks; even amnesty for illegal immigrants. No wonder they call him ‘Obama’s favorite Republican.’ It’s time for new, conservative leadership.”

The primary will be held May 8.
