Al Jazeera reports that a suicide bomber riding on a motorbike in eastern Afghanistan targeted a NATO convoy on Wednesday, killing 17 people and wounding 36 more. Witnesses claimed to have seen both US casualties and police fatalities, but these reports could not be confirmed.
The attack came in the city of Khost, which is viewed as the main area of operations for the Haqqani Network, the Taliban-linked organization the US claims is responsible for recent bombings in the country.
