The Montana Democratic Party is using an anti-Obama display used outside the state’s GOP convention over the weekend to attack two Republican candidates, accusing them of failing to speak out against the display.

An unknown person or group parked an outhouse labeled “Obama Presidential Library” outside the hotel where the convention was being held. It was painted to look as if it had been riddled with bullets.

Montana Dems Executive Director Ted Dick released this statement:

Any responsible leader would have spoken out against this extreme display, but Congressmen Dennis Rehberg and Rick Hill refused to do the right thing, along with the other leaders of their Party. That’s just one reason why more and more Montanans are turned off by the dangerous direction Dennis Rehberg and Rick Hill are taking the Montana Republican Party.

Rehberg is running for Senate against incumbent Sen. Jon Tester; Hill is the Republican candidate for governor.
