Nope, Condoleezza Rice almost definitely won’t be Mitt Romney’s vice presidential nominee. Fox News’ Carl Cameron reported Friday that Romney stood by his past promise not to choose a pro-choice VP, a stance that would instantly disqualifiy Rice.

From a rush transcript of Cameron:

As for the running mate, i grilled Romney about all the speculation that former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is now topping his short list. He didn’t bite but when he asked if he stands by his pledge in february of earlier this year to pick a pro-life running mate. He said he does stand by his remarks in the past. Since Rice has called herself mildly pro-choice back in 2006, that pretty much takes her out of contention.
