Unlike certain politicians who shall remain nameless, Mitt Romney writes in today’s Wall Street Journal that he won’t accept Chinese dominance of the global economy.
“Should the 21st century be an American century?” he saks. “To answer, it is only necessary to contemplate the alternatives. One much bruited these days is that of a Chinese century.”
Romney goes on to say he would pressure China on human rights and call them out for currency manipulation while maintainign a strong military presence in the Pacific.
“A trade war with China is the last thing I want, but I cannot tolerate our current trade surrender,” he writes.
