Mitt Romney Chokes Up While Talking About American Spirit

At campaign stop in Charlotte, N.C., Friday, Mitt Romney got emotional while recalling an anecdote about how neighbors came together to help his niece and her deaf daughter. As has been his custom on the campaign trail lately, Romney used the story to illustrate what he calls the American spirit of coming together, which he says President Obama has squandered by running on a platform pitting rich against poor. 

It was a rare moment of emotion for Romney, who is usually seen as stiff.
