Met Officer: Police Investigating Whether News International Had Info From Stolen Phones

The Met’s Deputy assistant commissioner Sue Akers told the UK’s Leveson Inquiry that police are investigating whether News International staff were in possession of information attained from stolen mobile phones, The Guardian reports.

Akers also told the Inquiry that the police investigation into illegal payments is stretching beyond Murdoch-owned papers, and includes the Trinity Mirror and Richard Desmond’s Express Newspapers.
