During a Wednesday night interview, Fox News host Megyn Kelly called out Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway for complaining that Hillary Clinton has gone after the Republican nominee’s comments about women, telling Conway that Clinton raises a legitimate issue.

The exchange began when Conway lamented that Clinton is running negative ads about Trump while the Republican nominee refrained from bringing up Bill Clinton’s sex scandals during the Monday night debate.

“At the end of the debate, after she tried to rough him up over a couple comments he’s made over 25 years or so with respect to women, he said, ‘You know, I came prepared to say some rough stuff but I won’t do it because your family’s here and your daughter’s here. But it’s not nice that you’re running hundreds of millions of dollars in negative ads against me,’ and he has a point,” Conway told Kelly.

“Kellyanne, come on,” Kelly said in response. “They are running for president. Of course she’s gonna hit him with negative ads.”

“But the ads should be true,” Conway protested.

Kelly then noted that Clinton’s ads “when it comes to his comments on women use his words,” and she added that it’s typical for candidates to run negative ads.

Conway then asked why Clinton spends money on negative ads rather than talking about her “vision.” Kelly informed Conway that candidates typically run ads in addition to laying out policy proposals.

Kelly later returned to Conway’s comment that Clinton has criticized Trump for “a couple comments he’s made over 25 years.”

“You know that’s not true. You know he has repeatedly made comments about women — about their looks, about their size, their weight,” Kelly said, adding that Trump mocked the appearances of Carly Fiorina and Heidi Cruz during the primaries. “This is an issue for him, is it not?”

In response, Conway continued to criticize Clinton for focusing on Trump’s comments about women.

“Because she’s killing him with women,” Kelly responded. “And she sees an advantage there, and she’s trying to exploit it. And my question to you is whether he needs to come up with a better answer than telling ‘Fox and Friends,’ ‘Well she gained a bunch of weight when she won Miss Universe and she was a real problem.'”

“Well, now we’re conflating different things,” Conway replied, adding that Trump should talk about policy.
