Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar has denied allegations that he punched, choked, and beat his 15-year-old daughter with a shoe. Dollar, who leads the 30,000-member World Changers Church International in Atlanta, claimed that the allegations were nothing but “exaggeration and sensationalism.” According to Associated Press, the pastor is one of the most prominent African-American preachers based near Atlanta.

Dollar was arrested after his 15-year-old daughter told a Fayette County sheriff’s deputy that she and her father had argued over whether or not she would be allowed to go to a party. According to the police report, she claimed that her father then began punching her and hitting her with a shoe. The deputy noticed a scratch on the girl’s neck. The allegations were corroborated by Dollar’s 19-year-old daughter, who told police her sister did not fight back.
