Twitter has unveiled a new simplified logo, a small blue bird, which looks basically the same as the Twitter bird that’s become associated with the service in the past two years, only the new logo does away with the tuft of feathers on top of the bird’s head, and the wing is curved upwards instead of down.

Twitter also wants users and others to begin representing Twitter using only the bird, no stylized words or letters, following a trend of brand simplification recently pursued by Starbucks.
(In a bit of semi-related trivia, the logo is supposedly named after former NBA star Larry Bird.)
