McDonnell Urges Adoption Of GOP Platform In Tampa

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, chairman of the Republican Party Platform Committee, called the platform a “conservative vision of government” and urged its adoption at the GOP convention Tuesday.

McDonnell called the the platform a detailed plan that condemns President Obama’s failures and offers a new vision for the future.

“It is an indictment, a blueprint, and the declaration,” McDonnell said. “It is an invitation and a pledge. First, it is an indictment of the failed policies of the current administration of the record of debt, job losses and government overreach. More importantly, our platform is a blueprint for rebuilding the cherished American dream. It is an overview of our conservative principles and detailed policies of how we jump-start economic growth and job creation. This ambitious blueprints projects a sea change in the way the government works.”

He concluded: “Ladies and gentlemen of the Republican Platform Committee and Republican National Committee, this is your platform, and I urge its adoption.”
