McConnell’s Facebook Page Mocks Reid Moments After Gun Bill Fails

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) Facebook page shared a photo on Wednesday mocking Harry Reid (D-NV) moments after the defeat of a bipartisan compromise on expanded background checks for gun sales in the Senate.

Immediately after the vote, Reid and a handful of Democrats stepped off the Senate floor to console families of the victims of the Newtown school massacre, some of whom were in Congress to watch proceedings. President Obama also delivered remarks at the White House, flanked by families of the victims and former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-AZ), who survived a gunshot wound to the head.

“We love the memes you send us! Keep them coming!” read a caption on the Facebook page.
