Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told reporters Tuesday he’s pressing for another floor vote on repealing the Affordable Care Act before the election.
“We are hoping to have a chance to vote on repealing Obamacare again,” McConnell said. “I would remind you all that we had that vote in…2011, every singe Republican voted to repeal it. We believe that it’s appropriate to have that vote again, and we’ll be working to get that [vote] in the near future.”
Reports earlier this year suggested McConnell believed it would be unwise to hold another vote on repealing the ACA. But pressure from the right, along with the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the law, may have changed his views.
