McConnell: ‘Not Clear Yet’ Whether GOP Will Filibuster Hagel

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told reporters Saturday that Senate Republicans have not yet decided whether to filibuster the nomination of Chuck Hagel as secretary of defense, cn|2 news in Kentucky reports

“Opposition to him is intensifying” after his confirmation hearing, McConnell said. “Whether that means he will end up having to achieve 60 votes or 51 is not clear yet.”

McConnell declined to say whether he would vote to confirm Hagel, saying he would make an announcement soon on his decision.
