McConnell: GOP Race Reminiscent Of Obama/Clinton Battle

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell declined to back a candidate in the GOP presidential race when asked Tuesday, but drew a comparison to the Democratic primary battle in 2008.

“It will end when it ends,” McConnell told reporters. “We’re just all watching, like you are, the drama associated with the contest. It’s reminiscent of the contest between Obama and Clinton on the other side in 2008.”

The comparison may not hold up, as TPM reported, when considering that Newt Gingrich lacks the campaign infrastructure that kept Hillary Clinton’s campaign alive throughout the primaries.
