Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) weighed in Thursday on the presidential race’s latest dogfight — about dog meat.
In response to the running controversy about Mitt Romney having once taken his dog for a long family trip in 1983 by tying the dog’s carrier to the top of a car, some conservatives have highlighted a quote from President Obama’s memoirs, in which he briefly discussed his boyhood experience of having been fed dog meat by his stepfather in Indonesia.
McCain, whom Obama defeated in 2008, has now posted this message on Twitter, linking to a slideshow of various politicians’ pet dogs over the years:
