Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Wednesday told Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that her testimony thus far at a hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the September attack in Benghazi, Libya was “not satisfactory.”
“There are many questions that are unanswered and the answers that you’ve given this morning are not satisfactory to me,” McCain said. He pointedly criticized the Obama administration for not providing “the security that was needed” in Libya after the fall of Moammar Gadhafi.
Clinton suggested that members of Congress are to blame for delaying some of the assistance that had been requested by the U.S. diplomatic mission in Libya.
“We’ve got to get our act together,” Clinton said.
