Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said that the Republican National Convention could bear to lose its first night on Monday, which has ben canceled due to concerns about Tropical Storm Isaac — provided that the following nights remain intact.

“It’s Wednesday, Thursday night that are the big moments,” McCain said on NBC’s “Meet The Press.” “It’s not that we don’t want that first night, but I don’t think it will be harmful if we lose the first night.”

However, he also added: “It could be harmful if we lose more than that.”
