Sen. John McCain said that Attorney General Eric Holder has no credibility with Congress because of the Fast and Furious controversy in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday. Discussing Holder’s appointment of two U.S. attorneys to investigate the leaking of classified national security information, McCain disagreed that that was the right way to go.
“Mr. Holder’s credibility with Congress is — there is none,” McCain said. “As you know we continue to have this problem with him withholding information on fast and furious…there is no credibility.”
McCain renewed his call for a special counsel who is separate from the Justice Department and suggested former Republican Senator Bob Bennett as someone who could lead the investigation.
