Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) called on the Obama administration to denounce the new powers which President Mohammed Morsi of Egypt seized this week, during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.” McCain said that the administration should say that Morsi’s new powers, which include making his decisions exempt from legal challenge and which sparked protests across the country, are “not acceptable.” McCain said that the aid the United States gives to Egypt, along with other forms of financial help, can be used as leverage to have Morsi’s decree reversed.
