Contradicting previous reports indicating that the gunman was in custody, the mayor of Wilmington, Del. said Monday that the man behind the shooting at a courthouse there is dead. A spokesman for the state police said that the gunman was in his late 20s to early 30s and was killed by Capitol Police officers. The identity of the shooter remains unknown.
One of the victims, according to the Associated Press, was the gunman’s wife, who was killed. The police spokesman said he does not yet know the condition of the others who were shot.
