A new poll shows Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) with a small 2 percent lead in his re-election fight against likely chalenger Eizabeth Warren in Massachusetts. Brown leads 37 percent to 35 percent in a poll conducted by the University Of New Hampshire for the Boston Globe. “This is a wide open race,’’ said Andrew E. Smith, the director of the University of New Hampshire’s Survey Center, told the Globe. “Both candidates are generally well liked. Unless something dramatic happens, this will go down to the wire.’’

Smith is refering to the high favorability ratings of both candidates — Brown enjoys a majority 54 percent favorability rating, while only 29 percent of Massachusetts voters polled have an unfaovrable rating. Warren nearly hits that level at 47 percent to 23 percent.
