Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, will campaign in Wisconsin Thursday on behalf of Democratic nominee Tom Barrett, who is looking to unseat Gov. Scott Walker in the hotly contested recall race June 5.
From the Baltimore Sun:
Colm O’Comartun, executive director of the DGA, said O’Malley will make a one-day trip to the Badger State to support Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the hard-fought contest. O’Malley will follow that trip with a three-state swing through New England.
Though Walker has been boosted by high-profile surrogates like South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, O’Malley’s visit will be one of the few stops from star Democrats to benefit Barrett. He has mostly campaigned with in-state figures like former Sen. Russ Feingold.
