Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will campaign with George Allen, who secured the GOP Senate nomination in Virginia this week, in a campaign event in Arlington Thursday. Rubio will also email supporters with a fundraising pitch on Allen’s behalf, via Politico:

“Several years ago, he was one of only fifteen Senators to vote against the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. He’s long advocated for a true Balanced Budget Amendment to our Constitution that will finally force Washington to live within its means. As Governor he worked to reform welfare, build Virginia’s Rainy Day Fund, freeze college tuition, cut taxes and grow the state’s economy, creating more than 300,000 net new private sector jobs. We need George’s leadership with us in the Senate.”

Allen is running against former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, also a former DNC chairman, or as Rubio’s email calls him, “Obama’s hand-picked party chairman.”
