Marathon Bombing Suspect Buried At Undisclosed Location

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombing suspect who died after a shoot-out with law enforcement last month, has been buried, according to a statement issued Thursday by the Worcester, Mass., police department. The department did not say where the burial had taken place.

“As a result of our public appeal for help, a courageous and compassionate individual came forward to provide the assistance needed to properly bury the deceased,” the department said in the statement.  “His body is no longer in the City of Worcester and is now entombed.”

The Police Chief would like to thank all of the officers who worked the security detail at the funeral home and acknowledge their professionalism and dedication. 

The Chief would also like to acknowledge Mr. Peter Stephan and Mr. Ruslan Tsarni for their cooperation.  Deputy Police Chief Steve Sargent deserves recognition for his hard work and logistical coordination.  City Clerk David Rushford also assisted by providing important information regarding the burial process.  Congress Jim McGovern and his staff for their responsiveness and assistance. 

And most importantly the Chief thanks the community that provided the burial site.
