Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), one of just seven Democratic senators who has not endorsed same-sex marriage, indicated Tuesday that his position on marriage remains unchanged. Manchin also supports the Defense of Marriage Act, the constitutionality of which was debated before the Supreme Court last week.
“I believe that a marriage is a union between one man and one woman,” Manchin said in a statement provided by his office to TPM. “My beliefs are guided by my faith, and I support the Defense of Marriage Act.”
