Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who is mulling a presidential run in 2016, on Monday morning criticized presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-KY) views on foreign policy.
“He has a view of the world that I don’t share. He said we shouldn’t have any troops in Iraq. He agreed with Obama — that was a disaster,” Graham said about Paul on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “Generally speaking, he’s been more wrong than right. He has an isolationist view of the world that I don’t share. And I like him, but he’s his father’s son.”
Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin, a “Morning Joe” panelist, then asked Graham how he could run an aggressive campaign against Hillary Clinton given that he is friends with the former secretary of state.
“Well, that would disqualify Jeb [Bush] because apparently Bill [Clinton] is like his illegitimate brother,” Graham quipped in response.
Later, co-host Joe Scarborough asked Graham if he was closer to Rand Paul or Hillary Clinton when it comes to foreign policy.
Graham indicated that he was closer to both Clinton and President Obama since “even Obama is more aggressive” than Rand Paul.
“Rand Paul is behind Obama, not just Hillary Clinton,” Graham said.
