Republican presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham (SC) said on Wednesday that “the worst thing” Republicans could do is listen to conservatives who have hatched a plan to avoid voting on President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Obama had enough votes to prevent the Senate from passing a measure disapproving the deal. A day later, some Republicans rallied outside the Capitol to oppose the deal.

On Wednesday, GOP presidential rival and Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) outlined a plan on the Senate floor that would delay a Congressional vote on the deal by saying that the entire deal had not yet been submitted to Congress members.

“The worst thing the Republican party could do is avoid a vote on Barack Obama’s deal with Iran. Let’s have a vote. We will get a bipartisan majority against the deal,” Graham said during an interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto. “He will veto it. It will marginalize the deal. And the next President will have a better opportunity to get us a better deal, if Obama has the veto, congressional disapproval.”
