Leader Gets 11-Year Prison Term In Occupy Bridge Bomb Sting

The ringleader of a group of activists affiliated with the Occupy and arrested in an FBI sting for plotting to bomb a bridge outside Cleveland was sentenced on Tuesday to 11 years and six months in prison, the AP reported. Prosecutors had wanted Douglas Wright to serve 30 years.

U.S. District Judge David Dowd Jr. also sentenced Brandon Baxter to nine years and nine months in prison, though prosecutors had requested 25 years. Connor Stevens was sentenced to eight years and a month, though prosecutors had asked for 19 years.

Another man connected to the case, Anthony Hayne, is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday, while Joshua Stafford is undergoing a competency evaluation.
