A lawyer shot Wednesday outside an office complex in Phoenix will not recover from his injuries, his law firm announced in a statement Thursday.

“Our friend and partner, Mark Hummels, was severely injured in yesterday’s senseless shooting,” the firm, Osborn Maledon, said in the statement, which was posted on its website. “We have been informed that Mark will not survive the shooting.”

In addition to Hummels, 43, two other people were shot in Wednesday’s shooting. Steve Singer, 48, died of his injuries, while a 32-year-old woman received non-life-threatening injuries. On Thursday, Phoenix police said a body found in Mesa, Ariz. had been identified as Arthur Douglas Harmon, 70, the suspect in the shooting. Harmon died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
