An event Tuesday at the state capitol in Sacramento, Calif. will mark the imminent milestone of Latinos matching the white population in the state, The Sacramento Bee reported.
There are roughly 15 million Latinos and 15 million non-Hispanic whites in California and the state Department of Finance said that the two populations will be officially even by mid-2013. By early 2014, the department projected, “the Hispanic population will become the plurality in California for the first time since California became a state.”
