“The Nightly Show” host Larry Wilmore on Thrusday took his time picking through the bad week of PR for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), which included a barrage of questions about the Iraq War to an accidental announcement of his candidacy.

“Jeb Bush accidentally announces he’s running for President, which is better than a Bush accidentally becoming President,” he said.

Wilmore noted that now that word is officially out Jeb is in the ring, the hard questions will start coming in.

The first real challenge came in Reno, Nevada, from a college student who questioned Bush on his brother President George W. Bush’s foreign policy (which he spent the week evading questions about). She accused the former commander-in-chief of creating the Islamic State terror group by disbanding the Iraqi military.

“Not only did he get stumped by a college student, he got so flustered he did this,” Wilmore said, playing a slo-mo clip of Bush patting the women’s shoulder after her pointed question.

He offered an optics tip.

“The number one thing you don’t want to do his put your hand on her, like she’s been overcome with the lady hysterics and needs to be escorted to a fainting couch,” he said.
