Larry Wilmore was really hoping that when “The Nightly Show” took a vacation last week, racism would take some time off, too.

But the host on Tuesday was disappointed to see that a white Cleveland patrolman was acquitted of a 2012 manslaughter charge after he and his fellow officers unloaded 137 shots on two unarmed black suspects.

“I seriously don’t know how this guy got off,” Wilmore said. He was even more stunned after he saw that the officer, Michael Brelo, jumped on the hood of the victims’ car and fired into the windshield.

“It’s like when you think you see a mouse and you’re so scared that you jump in a chair and shoot the floor 15 times,” he said.

“The Cleveland police department, where the motto is, ‘Hey, they can’t arrest all of us!'” he concluded.

By the end of the segment, Wilmore reached for a tropical drink and announced he needed another vacation.
