Larry Wilmore joined his colleague Jon Stewart on Thursday in bafflement at Louisana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s (R) particular way of announcing his run for President.
With Jindal in the race, and Carly Fiorina the only women in the running in the GOP, the host of “The Nightly Show” could finally drop a joke he’d been holding back.
“I can now refer to the rest of the Republican field, as 12 Angry Men,” he said. “I’ve been sitting on that one for a while, approximately 45 years.”
Moving on to Jindal’s actual announcement (above the chyron, “Come On, Bobby, It’s Not Happening”) the host was creeped out by the choice to film his announcement, first to his family, in “nanny-cam.”
“What is this, ‘To Catch A President?'” Wilmore quipped.
What’s more, when the key line finally came, Jindal’s kids appeared completely unmoved, aside from a silent thumbs up from one of his sons.
“That’s how they reacted? That’s your base!” Wilmore said.
