Longtime television host Larry King has joined the Russian cable news channel RT to host what the network described as “a mold-breaking political talk show” set to begin airing next month.
The announcement was made in a press release and an accompanying promotional video put out Wednesday by the network.
“I have always been passionate about government and issues that impact the public, and I’m thrilled at the opportunity to talk politics with some of the most influential people in Washington and around the country,” King said in the press release.
After leaving CNN in 2010, King founded his own production company, known as Ora.TV. His new program on RT, which will be called “Politics with Larry King,” will be produced by Ora.TV. It will be recorded in RT America’s Washington, D.C. studios, as well as Ora.TV’s Los Angeles-based studio.
