Former D.C. City Council Chairman Kwame Brown pleaded guilty on Friday to the charge he lied to a bank to obtain a loan he used to secure a home equity loan and buy and boat.
Brown then headed over to D.C. Superior Court to pled guilty to a misdemeanor chage of violating a D.C. statute prohibiting cash expenditures of over $50, reports the Washington Post. Brown resigned his position on Wednesday after reaching a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.
