A talk-radio host said during an appearance on Monday’s “Fox & Friends” that if Baltimore had a white mayor, police wouldn’t receive the ‘ridiculous’ blame they’re facing.

Author and talk-radio host Kevin Jackson made his comments during an interview with Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.

“I wrote a piece a while back called ‘Why America Needs a White Republican President,’ Jackson said. “If Baltimore had a white, Republican mayor, you wouldn’t be talking about cops right now. You’d be talking about the accountability where it lies.”

Jackson criticized the blame placed on police and compared the situation in Baltimore with that of Ferguson, Mo. Violence broke out in Baltimore during protests over the death of Freddie Grey, a 25-year-old black man who died from injuries he sustained while in police custody.

“The idea that Baltimore and the Justice Department are looking at police is ridiculous,” Jackson said. “And you’re seeing the outcome. I predicted this when Ferguson erupted. I told media and everybody there you’re doing a disservice to the law abiding citizens of this community by supporting a kid who did the wrong thing. Baltimore is essentially the same thing. We’re not allowing the jurisprudent system to take its course.”

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who is black, asked the Justice Department to conduct a civil rights review of the Baltimore Police Department, a decision the police commissioner welcomed “with open arms.”
