The roommate of Kevin Daigle, the suspect who allegedly shot and killed a Louisiana State Trooper last weekend, was found dead on Monday, with homicide suspected, the Associated Press reported.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso told AP that police discovered the body after the roommate did not show up for work, and that the scene showed signs of a struggle. The roommate’s name has not been released.
“We are just now processing the scene,” Mancuso said. “We don’t really have a lot of answers.”
Daigle was arrested after Senior Trooper Steven Vincent was shot in the head with a sawed-off shotgun during a traffic stop. Vincent died from his injuries on Monday, and state police said Daigle would be charged with murder.
Police captured the suspect after Good Samaritans passing on the highway stopped, wrestled Diagle to the ground, and restrained him with Vincent’s handcuffs.
