A man in Laurel County, Ky. has been charged after police said he accidentally fired his gun into his downstairs neighbor’s home while he was cleaning up beer that had spilled on his gun case.

According to television station WLEX, police said Kenneth Adams was cleaning up the spill when the gun went off. They found numerous beer cans in his home and reported that Adams reeked of alcohol.

Adams’ neighbor, Karen Hollin, said she was in the living room about 10 minutes before the bullet came through the ceiling, reported WLEX.

“The ceiling was lying, like on the floor and on the couch. It was really scary,” Hollin said.

Adams was charged with first degree wanton endangerment and second degree criminal mischief, according to WLEX.
