Fox News’ daytime panel show “Outnumbered” came to a screeching halt on Monday after co-host Kennedy made a remark criticizing Iran for being an Islamic nation.

The panel was in the middle of slamming the Obama administration for its recent tension with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“This is the most hostile rhetoric and harsh rhetoric toward what’s supposed to be a friend,” co-host Andrea Tantaros said.

“Two things,” Kennedy responded. “One, Iran is not gonna be moderate until they go back to Zoroastrianism, if we’re going to be honest about things.”

Zoroastrianism was the dominant religion of the Persian empire until the Muslim conquest of Persia in the seventh century. Modern Iran is overwhelmingly Muslim.

“Number two, yeah it is harsh rhetoric, but the President —”

Kennedy suddenly stopped herself short and began to mumble quietly. She then completely abandoned her point.

“Outnumbered” guest and Fox Business host Charles Gasparino jumped in as Kennedy remained silent, saying he hadn’t “heard the word Zorastrian in a long time,” mispronouncing the name of the religion. But Kennedy’s co-hosts egged her on to finish her second point.

“Say what you’re gonna say,” said Harris Faulkner. “Say it.”

“What were you gonna say?” Tantaors pleaded, as Kennedy stared at Gasparino while he spoke.

“No, let’s move on,” she said, and looked away from the camera.

“Did you have a joke? A knock-knock joke maybe?” Tantaros quipped.

“No, no,” Kennedy repeated, not laughing.

“Maybe she’ll tell us during ‘Outnumbered Overtime’,” Tantaros said, referring to the web show that appears on the Fox News website.

The hosts made multiple references to the awkward moment later in the show, but Kennedy did not complete her point.
