Ohio Gov. John Kasich won’t attend the Fox News Republican presidential debate scheduled for Monday after Donald Trump said he wouldn’t participate, according to tweets by Kasich’s political consultant.

Trump announced Wednesday that he wouldn’t attend the debate because he had already scheduled a speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). John Weaver, a consultant for Kasich, tweeted that the Ohio governor would attend if “Trump changes his mind.”

“No surprise Trump avoiding contrast,” Weaver tweeted.
