Jury Selection Underway In John Edwards Corruption Trial

Jury selection in the John Edwards corruption trial began Thursday. Edwards sat at a defense table in Greensboro, North Carolina, as about 100 potential jurors came into the courtroom, the Associated Press reports. Edwards smiled and nodded as the judge introduced the jurors. More from the AP:

Edwards, who served a single term in the U.S. Senate, faces six criminal counts related to nearly $1 million in secret payments made by two campaign donors to help hide the married Democrat’s pregnant mistress as he sought the White House in 2008.
