A Los Angeles County judge on Thursday denied a request from a woman who unwittingly appeared in the anti-Muslim film “Innocence of Muslims,” and who asked for clips of the film to be taken down from YouTube, The Los Angeles Times reports

The film, which contains crude and offensive depictions of the Prophet Muhammad, has been blamed for recent violence and demonstrations in the Middle East. The cast and crew have said they were duped by the film’s producers about the nature of the project.

From the Times:

Superior Court Judge Luis Lanvin said Cindy Lee Garcia had not demonstrated “a likelihood to prevail on the merits” of her request. Attorneys for Google, which owns YouTube, had opposed pulling the video clip, but Garcia’s attorney  said she would continue to seek having it removed.

Garcia sued the film’s producer and YouTube, claiming that clips from the controversial anti-Islam movie have led to death threats against her.
