Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) has two new TV ads in his re-election campaign, touting his support for veterans.

The first features Tester speaking to a town hall:

“The very first hearing I went to, I had a veteran stand up and say: ‘I’m a disabled vet, and my mileage reimbursement is 11 cents a mile.’ And so we went to work. And we got it up to a little over 40 cents a mile, so that veterans could afford to get to their health care. And we also put these clinics in a lot more places: Libby, Lewistown, The Havre, Cut Bank. It’s about making sure we live up to the promises that we made to our vets when they signed up.”

The other features a Montana veteran, Carla Lott, who is also a Native American of the Blackfeet Nation:

“I am the first woman in my family to join the military — first woman commissioned in the Army from the Blackfeet Reservation, too. Senator Tester came to a ceremony to honor my service. That’s how Jon is. He has a good heart, and he’s always there for those who have served. He helped pass the Rural Veterans’ Health Care act. And he’s fought for woman veterans who’ve been victims of sexual assault. Jon Tester listens. And he always stands up for Montana’s veterans.”
