Comedian Jon Stewart highlighted a parallel he noticed between the iPhone 6 and the United States’ moves to fight the Islamic State by conducting airstrikes on targets in Syria: they’re expensive, they’re bigger, much anticipated and involve a likely two-year commitment.

“Oooh, it was so anticipated,” Stewart said during a segment on the Daily Show on Tuesday night. “It was the iPhone 6 of wars: it’s expensive, a little bigger, a little bit more unwieldy than it’s going to be —it’s going to be at least a two year commitment,” Stewart said. “It kind of feels like you just got the f*cking last one. But…on the brightside at least it’s not the watch.”

Stewart’s comments came the same day that President Barack Obama delivered a statement updating the country on the U.S.’s airstrikes in Syria. Obama also said that 40 nations had offered to help the U.S. fight ISIL. Four Arab nations are reportedly involved in the airstrikes too with Qatar also helping as well but not by air.

“What are they, catering? I don’t understand. How is Qatar helping? We’re doing airstrikes,” Stewart said. “What are they, giving ISIS the silent treatment? And then when ISIS is like ‘Qatar, what’s wrong are you mad at me?’ Qatar is like ‘no, it’s cool.'”
