Sheriff Joe Arpaio wants voters to forget about the lawsuits, the low arrest rates and the federal criminal investigation into his office and get to know “the real” him.
In a television ad posted earlier this week by Phoenix television reporter Brahm Resnik, the Arizona sheriff showed off old black and white photos of his career in federal law enforcement before he was elected to office for the first time 20 years ago. Now at 80, the Republican is running for his sixth term as sheriff.
