Jim Roberts Leaving New York Times After 26 Years

New York Times assistant managing editor Jim Roberts announced on Thursday that he will leave the paper after 26 years on staff.

The news of Roberts’ departure comes on the day of the buyout deadline at the Times. The paper is seeking to eliminate 30 newsroom management positions. Roberts announced his move on Twitter: 

 

Roberts, a prolific user of Twitter, spoke with TPM in September 2012 about his work in digital media and the changes he has seen over his career.
