Italy’s Borrowing Cost Hits Record 7 Percent

The BBC reports that Italy’s cost of borrowing has hit a new record at 7 percent, the highest since the euro was founded in 1999. That number is widely believed to be unsustainable. And to put it in context, Germany’s implied cost of borrowing for 10 years is 1.73 percent, the BBC reports.
