International Court Finds Former Liberian President Guilty of War Crimes

Former Liberian president Charles Taylor has been found guilty of war crimes by an international court in the Hague. Taylor was charged with providing funding and support for rebels in neighboring Sierra Leone who committed multiple war crimes, including murder, conscripting child soldiers and sexual violence during the country’s civil war. Taylor was convicted of 11 charges, but acquitted of directly ordering atrocities himself.
