Following on the heels of Instagram’s debut of full photo feeds on its website (photo feeds were previously restricted to the mobile apps for Android and iPhone), it does not appear the website will allow photo uploading from the Web at any time in the near future. As a spokesperson for Instagram’s parent company Facebook told TPM:

“The core of the Instagram experience is about sharing photos while you are out in the world using your mobile device and we currently have no plans to allow people to upload photos from the web.”

While Instagram’s website has in recent months moved toward the full functionality of its namesake apps, it also still lacks the ability for users to create new accounts. Asked about Instagram account creation on the Web, Facebook’s spokesperson told TPM: “Not at this time.”
